Nonprofit Involvement

Need a hand with your summer to-do list? Don’t sweat it. The United Way of Greater Topeka knows a few people willing to rollup their sleeves and get down to business.

We will once again partner with corporate volunteers from throughout the area to help local agencies complete service projects during the 2010 Nancy Perry Day of Caring, the largest volunteer event of the year. During last year’s event, nearly 1,200 volunteers completed 80 community service projects at 35 area non-profit agencies, clocking 4,200 hours and saving agencies an estimated $85,000!

This is the perfect chance to review your organization’s “wish list” and design a project that would benefit your agency and your clients. To signup a project for this worthwhile event, please follow the instructions below:

1. Identify a Day of Caring Coordinator for your agency.

2. Submit DOC Coordinator name to United Way’s Office of Volunteer Engagement, 785.228.5127 or Larry.Hinton@unitedwaytopeka.org.

3. Logon to Volunteer Solutions between May 28th and July 16th to register agency projects (you may also access Day of Caring and Volunteer Solutions manuals at this site). If you have questions concerning Volunteer Solutions, please call Ryan Taber at 785.228.5128 or email at ryan.taber@unitedwaytopeka.org.
